"Here I've become attached to a subject I consider difficult. There's already the rendering of the rock, which I wanted to be very realistic. Then there is also the contrast between the rock and the water (essential in this composition), and finally, I made the large boulder stand out as the centre of gravity of the composition. So I insisted on the graphics, while the water was slightly blurred, as well as the background, because I wanted the main rock, the biggest one, to stand out. All this without ever forgetting the necessary overall harmony without which the painting may seem rigid and unbalanced. One rule too: always remain spontaneous in the gesture.
