Yan Vita is an artist who has his own approach.
In the beginning: a canvas already painted is covered with a mineral coating leaving some fragments of colors of the disappeared painting to appear here and there. Then, the acrylic is deposited with a lot of water like a watercolor to compose transparent colored funds, washed out. Then a plumage, a face, a foliage ... the line of the drawing is delicately married to the tinted material.
Other times, the drawing is inscribed in a precise way on the pages of an old book, letting appear, as clues, some words or some sentences of a forgotten story.... Painted or drawn, his subjects are integrated, inviting on plaster worked in several stages, recalling by certain sides the half-erased frescoes of medieval churches.
His themes of predilections return in a cyclic way, the nude, the portrait meet sometimes the tree or the bird superimposing themselves in a secret dialogue marked by softness and poetry.
