"After the rain" is a drawing from the series of "masked men" initiated in 2010. Originally, masks were used. Masks of childhood hung on the walls, masks in the museums that Laura Caillaux never stops walking, masks in the books that Michel Butor has made people talk about.... These masks, objects of worship taken out of their context, retain within them a narrative power that Laura Caillaux seizes upon to give them body and life in black and white. The masked men: strange and benevolent visitors, shadows of passers-by or mirrors of inhabitants.
