This drawing uses a design I call "random". This technique is my basic technique, the most relaxed and unconstrained, which I have been returning to regularly for several years. There is no preliminary composition, it is essentially at the beginning a search for harmony of form and colours, a balancing. The more precise figuration present in some "random", as it is the case here, is born from an incredulous bet, a possible shape in the starting weft, more or less visible, which is underlined in the course of the drawing. Here, it is a female form leaning over a newborn baby that I "saw". This drawing is made entirely with alcohol markers.

Myriam Eyann comes from a family with multiple regional affiliations. She has established privileged ties in Burgundy where she currently lives.

Very early on, drawing took an important place, naturally extended by architectural studies. She continues to work on the trace, the search for what endures, to find what binds, "what insists on existing, in the words of Michel Tournier in Vendredi ou les limbes du pacifique", she says.

With drawing, writing and photography, it is also her own imprint that she tracks, that of her gestures, the human trace shared with the whole group.

Myriam Eyann works essentially with markers and felt-tip pens, so nothing is erased and without going back, the creative position of the human being, its foundations, its freedom, appear as the rest of a passage.

His influences are to be found in the intuitive and obsessive work of Art Brut artists, but also in American abstract expressionism, calligraphy and organic architecture.

"What appears below the lines when you take the time to lift them is one of the few things that I think makes sense. " - Myriam Eyann
