Born in 1980 in Mouscron, a town wedged between the French-Belgian border and the linguistic border and which developed thanks to the textile industry, I now live and work in Brussels. It is after my training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tournai that a collaboration with the musician Otto Von Schirach began while he was in Belgium. I will then follow him across Europe to ensure the veejaying of his tours. Using samples of drawings, photos and videos, I will compose an evolving visual show and bring a universe that will replace the play of light on stage. Then an incident along the way will deprive me of my equipment and push me towards paper, markers and pure drawing, from which I won't get any more. I've been lulled by this automatic and graphic writing for almost 20 years now. It is inspired by music, cartography, astronomy, my tinnitus, memories of the time spent drawing in my grandmother's textile workshop. All these things are synthesized on the support. Like a sewing machine drawing sewing lines or like a monk repeating a mantra, I spend hours drawing the same pattern... until I forget myself. However, it is necessary for me to break this momentum from time to time in order to take a step back from my composition. The process takes time. The process delivers a composition of my emotions, moods and states of mind of the moment. One could say that it is an exquisite self-generated corpse from the depths of my unconscious. Once the process is complete, I pose as a spectator and discover the finished work.
