Not so long ago, man considered that the animal was devoid of feelings or emotion. That it could not have any conscience and consequently not feel the slightest suffering, the smallest of mistreatments. Let's add to that, a devastating XXth century, which will have almost mortally wounded a planet which did not ask for so much. Fortunately the world is evolving and some men, guardians of the good, have taken the words to wake up our consciences. Some environmental philosophers, visionaries, artists, all passionate about the very essence of life, have taken the time to ask themselves the right questions. As always, the human mind needs time to open up to another dimension of reflection, but recently, man has finally become aware that the animal is a sensitive living being that is not so different from us.
All the works of Christophe Drochon are stagings imagined, thought, composed and studied to support a patient personal reflection on his life and the world which surrounds me. The attitudes, the lights, the colors, the framings are there to support attempts of answers to its many existential questions. In the search for balance between photorealism and human emotion, it is indeed the love and the soul of the viewer that are the quest.
