Almost abstract representation of an improbable building. It is an acrylic painting on a modeling coating where traces (comb, spatula) and prints (lace, doily, paper, sponge) are applied. A frame in the style of the subject is painted on the canvas. In some places, the motif overflows the frame.

Passionate about painting since the age of 12, Bernard Devie has always shown an interest in so-called "primitive" art. His low-relief paintings evoke pre-Columbian, American Indian and Japanese art.

His very particular creations combine an undercoat of modelled acrylic relief with numerous layers of paint and varnish. The decorative motifs are often derived from prints of openwork fabrics: fancy curtains, lace, doilies found in flea markets. Traces of combs or spatula are added. The final result evokes the metal to be mistaken.
