The umbrella pines are always present. However, the sea is absent here. The colored lines come up against the trees bringing a strong plastic contrast. There is a fracture.

From landscape to landscape, Vincent Gabin takes us on a journey to discover his "lost garden". His paintings immerse us into his daily environment with warm and summery hues.

A significant career change: from designer to painter

Born in Burgundy, Vincent Gabin now lives in Paris. After training at the Beaux-Arts in Dijon and studying design in the capital, he worked as a freelance glasses & eyewear designer for 14 years. Following a series of business trips to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, New York, Milan and Daegu, he decided to devote himself entirely to painting with initial research starting in 2003.

An intimate story behind every landscape

When the family property was sold, Vincent Gabin saw what he had always known fade away; dense, impenetrable vegetation all around the house. So dense that he could no longer contemplate the Doubs, the river that flows peacefully below his garden.

As he likes to say, "I have contemplated, cultivated and absorbed this lush greenery over the years. For him, each painting in his collection could be titled "In search of my lost garden."

Now, his gaze is drawn to new horizons: the south, more vibrant and sunny, with a different and warmer light. Vincent Gabin urges us to find our own “lost garden". That’s why behind each and every one of the paintings in his gallery, there is a very particular story.
