Impression of spring flowers

Title after Gertrude Stein:

Stein later used variations on the sentence in other writings, and the shortened form "A rose is a rose is a rose" is among her most famous quotations, often interpreted as meaning "things are what they are", a statement of the law of identity, "A is A".

Biography Of Franco-American origin, Diane de Cicco first studied biology at the University of London and then worked as a researcher in the United States. In 1984, she decided to give up science and study photography, which led her to drawing and then painting via the Ateliers de la Ville de Paris from 1991. She lives and works in Ivry-sur-Seine. Approach For me, painting is a form of brainstorming. It is about disturbing one's preconceptions and making meaning proliferate, letting it germinate and blossom until the obvious becomes obvious. Intuition is to be taken seriously. What interests me is to reveal an irrational meaning that is born from my experience, from my wanderings. It is to welcome a serendipity that opens the field of possibilities. In this way, memory and emotion emerge little by little in the course of the gesture. From these crossings are born a music of notes and silences, inner landscapes revealing an unexplored space-time of the self. I often come back to nature. I feel a thirst, a nostalgia for this universe which is less and less present in modern life and which is necessary to me. It is both a way forward and a remedy against ugliness and violence.
