In figuration or abstraction, Claire Biette leads us into a universe freed from reality by a wave of colour and light that allows the imagination an opportunity to dream...
Powerful art shared and passed on
In awe of colour's expressive power, Claire Biette learnt early on about different pictorial techniques like watercolour, pastel and sketching from life models.
She then went on to further develop her skills over three years at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Nantes. Through the association Art Lumière, Biette has taught children and adults how to draw and paint since the early 2000s. Her personal work is exhibited throughout the Nantes region.
Personal themes at its core
Claire Biette's paintings are inspired by her family, friends and spiritual life. The themes are varied and touch on all areas that captivate her and give her life meaning.
She begins by sketching her subject to get an understanding of it and find harmony in the lines. She then works with the materials that will bring the canvas to life and create movement. Next come shadow and light. Finally she looks for a harmony between the colours to create the light that will guide her audience.
