Rémi JOUANDET lives and works in Valence in the Drôme region. He has been painting for over 25 years. For several years now, the artist has been approaching expressionist figuration from a purely abstract field, and attempts to bring the alchemy of automatic writing by colour to the conscious mastery of drawing to each painting. His series of portraits, which began about ten years ago, includes some anonymous and many contemporary icons of cinema, pop culture, rock and jazz.
