L’Intranquille - Acrylic on paper, mounted on canvas - 2016 - From the series "Autopsy of appearances": In this series, the artist is in search of contemporary forms of expression of the human being and his soul. While preserving the incomparable form of inner beauty, I introduce fractures and scars, the traces of life. Those that make every portrait unique and distinct.

Jean-Jacques PIEZANOWSKI is a French neo expressionist painter born in 1952. Initially engaged in a fairly long classical period, he exhibited in France, Germany and Japan within the International Society of Figurative Art in parallel with his activity as an engineer/researcher in the steel industry. In recent years, he has moved to a freer, more "contemporary" expression, and devotes himself exclusively to art. It is expressed in a neo expressionist register that takes advantage of the technical solidity inherited from its classical past. The paper, which he then assembles on canvas, allows him a great spontaneity in the gesture, and often with multiple superpositions by collages from my works.

Mainly interested in portraiture, he seeks the expression of the human soul in a form of beauty, which wants to remain formal by inscribing itself in a certain singularity. He is regularly exhibited in France, Germany, Switzerland and Poland.

Between painting and poetics, his work explores the human soul and the mark of the passing of time. His portraits and figures present elements of rupture, scars, fractures, traces of writing that are the marks of the passing life. They carry the stigmas of time, the gap between the projected, ideal life and the brutality of reality. Behind the mystery of her looks, there is a softness and inner beauty. The eyes of his characters want to come alive like sparks of hope. Her inks are refined and attempt to freeze an expression or emotion in the spontaneity of the clear, unique gesture. In contrast to this universe, the titles bring a lightness, a touch of poetry and humour, the only ramparts to this sometimes violent universe. Like life!
