Adeline is a Berlin-based French artist, who is specialised in both painting and screen printing. After graduating from the HEAR in Strasbourg (Haute Ecole des Arts du Rhin), she pursued her passion for old, traditional printing techniques by joining various residency programs around the world.
She has been living in Berlin since 2009. There, she opened up a screen-printing studio. Her goal is to constantly experiment and push the technique to its limits. She works with the screen printer as a painter and creates her own colours by mixing old cosmetics, flowers and spices to make her personal, unique ink.
The female figure is a source of inspiration for Adeline, as is art history. The two are combined into a botanical vibe. Her sketchbook is full of drawings and invented colours, pictures, flowers and fabrics.
Her artwork is all about depth, shade and light; standing somewhere between fading-in and fading-out. We can immediately sense her desire to develop a colourful world where old images and photography are combined.
With a straightforward vision and a silk-soft imagination, Adeline merrily weaves her art with strength and sensitivity.
