In the same artistic approach inspired by street art and urban art, Elizabeth Roman wanted, through this work, to raise social issues. Seeing this scene in the street, she was struck by the existential questions she was asking herself: What is the true meaning of life? Who are we really behind the appearance and labels that we all wear and stick to others? Are we what we own? Why do we have this frenetic desire to own things that finally leaves us unsatisfied and makes us want to own even more things? What is the true meaning of life, of what we possess, of what we do? What is the real meaning of existence?

Elizabeth Roman, of South American origin, draws her first artistic references from the works of Mexican muralists, true artistic, political and social expressions, as well as Pop Art for its smooth surface treatment and flat colours.

Today, his work is strongly influenced by street art, an artistic movement with a strong social and political content. She is challenged by these committed street artists and fascinated by their controversial artistic productions containing a strong critique of society, often ironic but always inviting reflection.

"Art that leaves behind its pure aesthetic function, to adopt an intention of reflection, contestation, even social criticism towards certain significant events in our society and our time..."

"Painting that tells the story, raises questions and offers the possibility of generating an awareness of social criticism while speaking through the image."
