Born in 1987 in Paris, I began studying graphic arts at the Emile Cohl school in Lyon in 2006, then embarked on painting and began exhibiting a series of portraits in 2009. Working with acrylic brushstrokes, I search for depth and interiorization. The choice of tight frames and large square formats brings strength and an imposing side. At the same time, I am developing a series of "characters", full-length portraits with a more graphic rendering. The face always remains very worked in opposition to the body which, remaining in the form of sketches, disappears into a composition of flat areas and filaments. The universe of these portraits remains mainly influenced by the world of comics, graphics and illustration. My latest works feature semi-abstract landscapes where felt and brushstrokes interact to form a complex material. Everything is suggested, in a misty effect reminiscent of a dream. It is an intuitive painting, worked in an aesthetic search and balance above all. The goal is not to distinguish but to let oneself be carried away. In this series Man is always present but drowned in the elements, becoming an integral part of the landscape. It is only matter among matter.
