Tondo, from "rotondo", round in Italian, is an art form that has existed since the beginning of civilizations, widely used in the Renaissance it often symbolizes what is infinite, the universe or the cosmos. This "circle of intimacy" is also present in contemporary art (Alechinsky, Sol Lewitt...).
"In painting or sculpture I have a lot of pleasure exploring this circular shape. Sensitive to the drawings formed by the olive oil I project in my stoves while cooking, the desire to exploit them on "tondi" a way for me to make these culinary moments less boring! The gesture is the same as with paint or ink, I throw my hand into an impulse of which there remains a trace, a rhythm, an energy." - Fabienne FOL
