For Camille Pradel de Lamaze, artistic activity has never been a simple entertainment, because since childhood, her grandmother has accompanied her through classical drawing lessons - living model, still life, sketches...
From this experience she retained solid foundations of drawing, but it is an encounter with the painting and history of the French artist Fabienne Verdier that will lead Camille to new questions, which are at the root of the work she proposes today. This contemporary painter opens a dialogue between China and France, between ancestral calligraphy and traditional Western painting. After reading Fabienne Verdier’s autobiographical book "Passagère du Silence", which retraces her apprenticeship alongside masters of Chinese calligraphy, painting has no longer become a simple medium, but a real living material, with which the painter can play.
The palette is already so rich and beautiful, it is then a question of being able to artificially reproduce what is random. The will to do something beautiful also comes from a certain weariness with speeches. The silence of the "observer" is undoubtedly the best compliment, because in addition to decorating your living room, painting has lived and will live long after all of us.
