This painting is the portrait of a joyful young girl, well in her skin with a slight touch of madness. This canvas can be purchased on its own. This canvas is also an integral part of a triptych entitled "The Lady of the Square" (composed of three independent canvases "Large Family", "The Redhead" and "The Guarded Hunt"), each of which tells a story but which, taken together, tells yet another one (see photo 2)

As a child, Flo Jaouen remembers seeing many painting exhibitions, such as Chagal, Dufy, Klimt, Chardin... with her mother, who was herself passionate. From 9 to 15 years old, she studied modelling and drawing in the workshops of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. At 17, she decided that she would be a painter. After graduating from the Beaux-Arts, on the fringes of painting, Flo worked as a computer graphics designer for several years. His painting, initially abstract, inspired by urban architecture (buildings under demolition, construction sites, vacant lots), has become figurative and human-oriented over the years, and more and more realistic. His main artistic influences have been, among others: Rembrandt, Velasquez, Goya, Honoré Daumier, Kandinsky, Miro, Picasso, Crémonini, Bacon, Garouste... and many contemporary artists. The artist is interested in the duality of beings, being and appearing, the image we give of ourselves and the way we look at others. She tries to show what is beyond appearances. Each of his works tells a story. She stages characters (real people but also representations of living beings such as statues, dolls, figurines) that she takes out of their initial context. She invents a story for them alongside other characters in order to establish links, connections in parallel universes that shake up the codes. The realism of his works is built on a critical language, the questioning of a humanity. Flo tries to infuse her paintings with the energy of life.
