Seventh canvas from the collection of the same name.
"I painted "Altersections_7" during the heat wave of this summer 2019, which is why refreshing green is in the spotlight in this composition. It is also a tribute to the Amazonian forest that burned that same summer; the motifs recall dense foliage, reptile skins and the blood of the Earth flowing. Our environment is in crisis and is suffering the full force of the atrocities of which only man is capable.
This web is a cry of revolt against the capitalist system and the liberalization of the world market. Because if Amazonia is burning, it is to create agricultural plots instead of forests. Everything that could be produced there is used for exports, speculation and the globalization of standardized grain commodities. We can no longer tolerate this. I am not particularly a committed artist, but I am concerned about it. It is a modest participation in the awareness effort. If this work can shed light on others, so much the better." - Jérôme Cohé
