During my training at the fine arts school in Aix en Provence I explore abstract painting and large format. I then discover the emotional charge of painting without identification, the tension of colours and gesture, the relationship between the body and space.
Abstraction seems to me to be the most free mode of expression, the one that can be determined without constraints, the only limit being the physical framework of the medium.
In the end, I understood that even if abstract art was not figurative, it represented something, a trace charged with my gestures and my breathing.
From then on, it seemed essential to me to explore figuration.
Back in my native Pyrenees, my field of research would no longer be the representation of emotion alone but also what is at stake in figurative painting.
At that moment the questions related to the representation of things never left me.
How can I ask myself questions? How can I find an echo in my contemporaries at a time when the body is overexposed? How to combine painted trace and drawing?
