Born in 1991, at the foot of the foggy Alsatian balloons, it was in Rabat, under the warm colours of Morocco, that Myriam Ghilan grew up. From her Moroccan childhood, Myriam will keep this unique perspective on a thousand-year-old culture and an undeniable taste for the elements of the earth and nature. The Mediterranean Sea and the richness of its seabed; the Cherifian sky and its precious lights; nature and its sparkling minerals are all elements that will later be found at the heart of his works and creations. As she grew up, she tried drawing, painting on silk, pottery but also learned embroidery, weaving, engraving on glass and wood... The threads of Moroccan ancestral arts crossed and intertwined in the dreams and imagination of the young artist. Later, the young woman will draw her inspiration from the heart of Moroccan culture: from these women with sparkling kaftans, these fabrics with shimmering reflections and their bustiers embroidered with pearls... glass pearls that will become, through her works, a true signature. After her baccalaureate, Myriam continued her studies until she obtained a master’s degree in marketing of luxury professions. But it is in creation, her true passion, that she decides to pursue and develop. From figurative to abstract to pop art, Myriam Ghilan’s paintings are recognizable by the authentic fusion of these famous shimmering glass beads and luminescent acrylic paintings. In March 2018, she was awarded her first prize at the opening of the exhibition of her first paintings, "Pluie d’étoiles", at Galerie 89 in Paris. (photo link or exhibition poster) Then, from June 1st to September 15th, it is the famous gallery of the Place des Vosges, Galaxie des Arts, which hosts the works marked by femininity and freedom of the artist-painter. (photo link or exhibition poster) Today, Myriam has also embarked on interior design, imagining, creating and adding numerous sculptures and decorative objects to her collection.
