Christophe Stouvenel "KIKI", a visual artist born in 1965, takes his influences of expression and technique from the culture of the 1980s. It is with his childhood nickname that "Kiki" already signed his first drawings... During his plastic arts studies, at the bend of a street, he comes face to face with a 4x3m painting of "KIKI PICASSO", simply stuck on an urban panel. Unable to resist, this work, which depicted a Santa Claus, was ripped off the following night and used for a long time as a decor in his student room. For Christophe Stouvenel, being artistically speaking "Kiki" then becomes an obvious fact... this is how he explains his attachment to his nickname attached to his name: there is a Picasso, a Kiki Picasso... now there will be a KIKI.
KIKI has a predilection for the use of supports and media from urban art: he mixes stencil work, the staging and collage of ripped posters, the diversion of words like advertising slogan, etc....... These are all techniques and approaches that reflect not only the cultural and artistic influence of his teenage years, but also his sensitivity and interpretation of the world today.
