Khaled Alkhani, a painter from Syria, arrived in France in 2011, forced to flee his country after taking part in demonstrations against Bashar al-Assad.

The violence that has shaken and still shakes his country permeates his work. The woman, solitary and anonymous, is at the centre of his work. Long silhouettes, both elegant and silent, are draped in bright colours, a pictorial translation of the artist's emotions.
