"First there's the look. The first look. The pose, the line of the face, the mouth. That's where the love story begins. I transcribe the beauty in a few minimalist lines to reveal the signature, the DNA; the essence and the essential. Then, the flowers and color are an introduction to a more intimate approach. This is love foreplay. The flower is an important feminine symbol, it expresses the strong and fragile, but above all unique woman. I borrow Frida Kahlo's flower wreath to crown courageous women and project Frida into all women.
As for colour, it is an aesthetic tool, but also a reflection of my mood, the colour of feelings. And then, I depict female suffering. I wanted to give a face, a thousand faces, to states of mind. I want to have a benevolent look on the history of each one, each suffering is legitimate and our pride or the look of the other should not be an excuse to minimize her pain. This is irresistible, invincible and unconditional love. I unveil the woman with her whole being to make you fall in love, from her lines to her soul." - Florina
