I-M-POSSIBLE#1#2 I-M-POSSIBLE#1#2 are a reflection on the notion of resilience. Like most of the works in the AB!ME series, alina(lalala) thought of them as an evolving entity, in movement and cut into 2 canvases. The very essence of the word "impossible" and its definition evolve, as a personal life path, a reflection on us, our choices, our actions and their consequences. I-M-POSSIBLE#1 is the starting point, with a background that is being sought, that is being built. The colours go from black - symbol of emptiness - to green, hope; to finish with yellow, success.
I-M-POSSIBLE#2 is the logical continuation, the evolution, with a background that is more worked out, less tortuous and assumed; like a kind of mantra. With the phrase "I believe in miracles" which appears as a nod to the impossible that we have made possible. "A man is made of choices and circumstances. No one has power over circumstances, but everyone has power over choices." ("The Other's Part" Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt) I-M-POSSIBLE #1 & #2, are part of the AB!ME series, which explores duality in the purest and most direct way possible.
Alina(lalala) worked on this series, as an impalpable feeling that would become ... And to express this impalpable and direct notion, abstraction was an evidence; working around the symbolism of shapes and colours, she kept the "esSense" of the concept of duality.
Her abstract paintings, not only take up the codes of the great American abstract painters of the 1950s-60s, which she interprets freely, but she integrates, as often in her works, the Japanese aesthetic concept wabi-sabi, which emphasizes the beauty of imperfect things. This abstract idealization of beauty, where everything is imperfect, incomplete and atypical, where "being outweighs appearances" is the real impact of her work and allows us to see the essential.
