Our morality was forged from our vices and like all duality, virtues and vices are inseparable and cannot exist in an autonomous and independent way. To approach this notion of vice and virtue, alina(lalala) chose to work with the colour pink ; the ROSE whose anagram is EROS (primordial god of Love and creative power in Greek mythology), is associated on the one hand with childhood, tenderness and happiness, but can also be the colour of seduction....

Slippage of Pink, that which leads to the pleasures of the flesh, to its exuberance and sometimes to its forbidden games. To "embody" vice, alina(lalala) has chosen to associate it with black, "the dark side of strength", thus reinforcing the dark side of pink itself. While the doctrine of virtue concerns the internal principle of our actions, and determines their moral ends, which are: the perfection of oneself and the happiness of others, alina(lalala) has chosen to associate it with white to reinforce its positive side. For VIRTUE alina(lalala) used the oval form horizontally, introducing a kind of fullness. In contrast, VICE's oval reminds her of "The Cosmic Egg", a symbolic concept used to explain, according to many cultures and civilizations, the appearance of the world and which is the form that Chaos takes, a matrix that contains everything in a virtual, latent, potential state.

INFINITE & IMMACULATE are part of the AB!ME series, which explores duality in the purest and most direct way possible. Alina(lalala) worked on this series, as an impalpable feeling that would become ... And to express this impalpable and direct notion, abstraction was an evidence; working around the symbolism of shapes and colours, she kept the "esSense" of the concept of duality. Her abstract paintings, not only take up the codes of the great American abstract painters of the 1950s-60s, which she interprets freely, but she integrates, as often in her works, the Japanese aesthetic concept wabi-sabi, which emphasizes the beauty of imperfect things. This abstract idealization of beauty, where everything is imperfect, incomplete and atypical, where "being outweighs appearances" is the real impact of her work and allows us to see the essential.

Alina Schiau, named after her artist alina (lalala), was born in Romania, that of Ceausescu... Her parents decided to flee her, so that their daughter would grow up in a free country. For Alina, it all began during her studies at the Geneva School of Applied Arts where she emerged first from her class, confirming her belief that she is gifted for creation.

Between graphic design and painting, between History and stories; his daughter, his life, love, music, the great masters of yesterday and today, nature, duality... The list knows no end, it even grows longer by the day...

The messages that can be perceived through his works are often coded and become a labyrinth of puzzles, a puzzle that needs to be deciphered (or not). As when you listen to a song in a foreign language, you don't understand it, but it speaks to you and touches you in its own way. And as a game, as a secret, as another story that adds to that of the work, legend has it that on each of her paintings, her daughter comes to put her name on it: "Lili".
