"Breathtaking View" II is the title of the second painting in a series. Acrylic painting on canvas. Let us imagine ourselves for a few moments slightly overhanging this sea of a dense blue with in the distance the mountain of improbable colors. The striped and marouflaged papers spice up this surrealist point of view. The whole thing is sprinkled with a few touches of indigo blue.

From landscape to landscape, Vincent Gabin takes us to discover his “lost garden”. His paintings immerse us in his daily environment with warm and summer hues.

A significant career change: from designer to painter

Born in Burgundy, Vincent Gabin now lives in Paris. After training at the Beaux-Arts in Dijon and studying design in the capital, he worked as a free-lance designer in eyewear for 14 years. Following a series of professional trips to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, New York, Milan, Daegu, he decided to devote himself entirely to painting with initial research in 2003.

An intimate story behind every landscape

It was at the sale of the family property that Vincent Gabin saw what he had always known escaping: dense, ubiquitous vegetation all around the house. So dense that he could no longer contemplate the Doubs, a river flowing peacefully below his garden.

As he likes to recall, “I have contemplated, maintained and absorbed this vegetation over the years.” For him, each painting in his collection could be entitled “In search of my lost garden”.

Now, his gaze is drawn to other horizons: the south, more smiling, with a different and warm light. Vincent Gabin wants us to find “our lost garden”. This is why, behind each of the paintings in his gallery, there is a very special story hidden.
