"I have drunken deep of joy and I will taste no other wine tonight" Percy Bysshe Shelley - Bay of Poets, Lerici, Italy Why not read the literature on the work of Percy Bysshe Shelley? This idea came to me while on holiday in Lerici, Italy, the place where the English writer died tragically. This painting is based on this sentence from the play "The Cenci". Acrylic paint and India ink on paper

Geert Heirbaut - Kowalsky Days
Belgium
Emerging artist
  • KAZoART artist since 2019
  • 47 works

KAZoART is pleased to present Geert Heirbaut in the online gallery. The works in this gallery are taken from the artist's recent series "Heads on Fire" and "RedRedRocks". "Heads on Fire" is based on human problems such as the climate crisis. In each drawing, Heirbaut explores the lyrical freedoms, the humour of his proteinaceous abstract creatures, which has the ability to appear in human and unfriendly form, interpreting society for better or for worse. The artist has developed his original style of undefined creatures. While some forms are more or less delimited and a little more identifiable, most are more suggestive and amorphous. Through the evocative translation of his fantasy, Heirbaut will address themes such as deception, oppression, fantasy, fear, memory and pure optimism. These drawings are quite ambiguous, leaving room for a visual transformation based on what the viewer brings to each work in terms of visual memory and referents. Geert Heirbaut, who operates on Instagram under the name Kowalsky_Days, has been invested in manipulating and combining abstract elements from scratch to create mermerizing works of art that can mean different things to viewers based on their visual memory.
