"Isabelle Schenckbecher was born in 1955. She has something to take care of since her grandfather, Charles Schenckbecher, is one of the great names in painting in Alsace, as much appreciated as a teacher as a painter. Isabelle studied at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg. A teacher herself in Paris, she paints and exhibits in her turn.
Abstract, this painting is not, for sure, since it is torn off in a joyful and Siegfriedian battle from an imagination overflowing with life and love. It has certain aspects of figuration, certainly, but only if we accept from figuration that it can be philosophy.
Isabelle Schenckbecher has a wealth of heart and mind, a communion with the cosmos. Light and shadow extend in large and powerful streaks over these paintings full of movement, flux and ebb, full of the immensity of the world. Here is a striking painting whose dense and happy calm opens our eyes to the splendour of creation. I’m glad to know this painting!"
