Yogi Bird, a painting from my 'neue-constructivist' series built according to a personal visual grammar: from these constraints that I impose on myself is born a great visual freedom, based on a functional minimalism. Most of the paintings in this series are painted in flat tints, in this one the will is to have a more voluminous, more aerial and ethereal rendering: space and lightness as an opposition to this character, which has become a simple resting place for this timely bird. A message to deliver?

"Bold flat tints of color and playful geometric shapes highlight the signature of contemporary French artist Antony Squizzato. His eye-catching work is a fusion of elements from Pop Art, Cubism, Bauhaus and Suprematism." - Alan Lennon

Antony Squizzato lives and works in the Auvergne region of France. In 2014, with 15 years of digital advertising under his belt, he decided he had reached what he considered his limits as a creative director. Feeling the need to step away from this field, he became a full-time painter and freelance art director. He focuses on the evolution of his eponymous style, simply called "Neue Constructivism".

From 1999 to 2014, he worked as an Associate Creative Director at Periscope, for a wide range of international brands, including automotive, entertainment, industrial, NGO, and luxury and fashion brands.

During the golden years of early digital design, he was involved in many creative areas: motion, illustration, art direction, font design, 3D and games.

Today, he divides his time between creating his studio, art direction in advertising agencies, street art projects as well as producing visuals for a wide range of renowned international agencies. He works in a balanced ecosystem between personal production and art direction commissioned by smart people looking for new ideas.

Antony Squizzato uses Abstraction and Minimalism to advance ideas with universal meaning, combining traditional painting methods with digital techniques and new media to create something both classic and contemporary. His work has been awarded and published worldwide: IdN, Vogue, Pictoplasma, 3X3 Mag, Jazz Magazine, Freshpaint Mag.
