Dimitris Pavlopoulos is a creative artist with his own studio in Barcelona. He started painting and drawing since childhood. He has studied painting and graphic design and has participated in many group exhibitions.
Dimitris Pavlopoulos' primitive style paintings are inherently figurative, but their naïve imagery is primarily design-oriented and has an illustrative quality based on an abstract painting aesthetic. This juxtaposition of abstraction and design is what makes his paintings so fascinating, his figures created as containers to be filled with textures, colors and ideas, beautiful compositions that conspire to feed our desire for aesthetically beautiful objects.
Dimitris Pavlopoulos repeats the same motifs in his paintings, but each image is totally different, his starting point being the relationship between pictorial concepts such as texture, color, line and form. This interplay of ideas allows him to explore the way we see a painting, the depth and nuance of the material, and the potential he has to manipulate the way we see the picture plane. Some of his figures resemble copper or collage cutouts, the rest are more illustrative in nature.
