Patrice Coudun was born in Paris in 1955. Since his childhood he has been immersed in an artistic atmosphere. However, he studied engineering and the exercise of this profession gives him a real freedom concerning his passion for pictorial art. He has been able to show his work through numerous personal and group exhibitions, mainly in France, but also abroad such as in Minneapolis (USA) or Singapore.
He has received fourteen awards at Salons or exhibitions in France. His painting has evolved over the years as a demanding creativity and search for new paths. Thus, the first years are devoted to studies of landscape compositions and fiery harmonies, then quickly sees the day a universe made of characters, lines of force and movements which is his language since then.
Works that expose a strong theme in which man is the center. Greatness and wisdom but also weaknesses and compromises. He builds his works from a story, a scenario, a fact, an idea. It always begins with one or more drawings to set up the protagonists, the links, the rhythms. One realizes that, even when the themes are inspired by the ancients, such as Dürer, for example, they remain modern and current. The rest is a matter of harmonies, of "polyphonies", of antagonisms, of the ability to suggest, in order to have the privilege of offering to the eyes of all a piece of his soul.
