Trained in Graphic Arts and Fine Arts, Christian started his career as a graphic designer, roughman, illustrator in an agency in Paris and has been a freelance Art Director since 2006.
Over the years of "all digital", a desire to reconnect with the material, to find the feeling of drawing, of painting of his beginnings, is felt: a more direct, organic and tactile relationship with its support, a durability other than a screen lit. By setting aside time to work on his canvases almost daily for the past three years, he has refined his technique and transcribed a world of his own onto his canvases. A look, ideas inspired by his passions for vintage, the passing of time, incongruity, snapshots of life, ... bearing on his creations a vision shifted and sometimes marked by a humor that characterizes him. For Christian, a work must be able to arouse an emotion, a smile, a questioning, as much for him as for the person who discovers the canvas, and can only be successful by the perfect agreement between three points: the choice of the subject, the composition, and the realization.
Associating ideas, situations or concepts that are a priori unrelated, diverting or highlighting the forgotten aesthetics of a simple everyday object. A composition worked and striking by its framing, its plans, values, lights (without doubts its years in the advertisement). - A realization that can be qualified as "Figurative-expressionist", by trying to retranscribe volumes, effects of matter, colors, .... without wanting to be "hyperrealistic". Most of the paintings are worked on canvas with acrylic, and Christian sometimes allows himself to associate it with a mix of pencils and inks.
