"Heads on Fire" is based on human problems such as the climate crisis. In each drawing, Heirbaut explores the lyrical freedoms, the humour of his proteinaceous abstract creatures, which has the ability to appear in human and unfriendly form, interpreting society for better or for worse. The artist has developed his original style of undefined creatures. While some forms are more or less delimited and a little more identifiable, most are more suggestive and amorphous. Through the evocative translation of his fantasy, Heirbaut will address themes such as deception, oppression, fantasy, fear, memory and pure optimism. These drawings are quite ambiguous, leaving room for a visual transformation based on what the viewer brings to each work in terms of visual memory and referents.
