I live and work in Le Vésinet in the Paris region.
After years of figurative work, I wanted to "let go". The abstraction that I call "figuration-abstract" to define my work allows me this freedom of creation.
Through my painting, I invite the viewer to walk through imaginary landscapes. Working in series, some are more abstract and purified, others more figurative where everyone sees different evocations, I never give titles to my paintings, just a reference so we imagine and finally it is good because imagination is freedom.
I work with acrylic filled with marble powder, it is an additive that I appreciate for the different effects of matter it can obtain and for its matt finish.
Generally (certainly partly in order to escape the anguish of the white canvas) I start my paintings with large black flat areas, drips, scratches... then the layers of color overlap, very quickly: it is the hand that guides the mind.
My paintings are often unrecognizable from one day to the next. I keep track of the different stages, either through the visible, the perceived or the "repentant", and through the interplay of superpositions the balance of the canvas is gradually created.
I don’t "premeditate" my paintings, every morning when I return to my studio, it is a new adventure that begins and in which I throw myself by privileging the gestural energy.
