Christophe Mirande

Plastic artist and enameller born in Bordeaux in 1967, Christophe Mirande has lived and worked in Paris for fifteen years. After a first life in the world of letters, he decided to devote himself fully to his work as a plastic artist in 2005. Through literature, his works carry in them the traces of its favorite authors: Hermann Hesse, Yasunari Kawabata, Thomas Bernhard or even, Haruki Murakami.de multiple trips abroad, in Madagascar in particular, will be essential for him in his report The material. The sensitivity of his creative approach agrees with the fragility and the beauty of a world to be rediscovered. The copper enameillage, practiced before by his father, Raymond Mirande, is still today preponderant in his artistic approach. Very early He participates in many fairs and exhibitions in France as abroad: United States, Japan, Lithuania, Spain, Chile, Ukraine ... Although his creations today combine other subjects such as slate, the Zinc or bitumen, enamel on metal is at the heart of its plastic approach. The heart of its work revolves around fire and its ambivalences; the heat that warms and the burning fire. Fire as a symbol and search for purity, perfection and ideal, in a geometric, rational, and human world.
