Christophe Mirande was born in Bordeaux in 1967. He has been living and working in Paris for the past fifteen years.

After a first life in the world of letters, he decided to devote himself fully to his work as a visual artist in 2005.

Deeply influenced by literature, his works bear the traces of his favorite authors: Hermann Hesse, Yasunari Kawabata, Thomas Bernhard or Haruki Murakami.

Multiple trips abroad, in particular to Madagascar, were essential for him in his relationship with the material. The sensitivity of his creative approach is in tune with the fragility and beauty of a world to be rediscovered.

Enameling on copper, previously practiced by his father, Raymond Mirande, is still predominant in his artistic approach.

Very early on, he participated in numerous shows and exhibitions in France and abroad: the United States, Japan, Lithuania, Spain, Chile, Ukraine...

Although his creations nowadays mix other materials such as slate, zinc or bitumen, enamel on metal is at the heart of his approach as a visual artist.

The heart of his work revolves around fire and its ambivalences; the fire that warms and the fire that burns. Fire as a symbol and search for purity, perfection and ideal, in a geometric, rational and human world.
