The search for light, transparency and purity gradually led me to the Murano crystal, made of Fontainebleau sand. I engrave on gold leaf caught between two black and transparent crystal plates, fused by the master glassmaker Nicola Moretti in Murano.
My work is made of reminiscences, of underground memories that transform into symbols, figurative or abstract traces, alive, that I accompany towards a harmonious sound that must emanate from the work, it is then that I know that it is finished. I go through the stages of contemplation, improvisation, an approach that comes from my high level piano practice. The painting vibrates and my music is pictorial. I cannot separate these approaches, they have coexisted in me since my early childhood. Classical music gives me a sense of rhythm and elegance, precision, harmony, and my research on sound matter through the composition of electroacoustic music is transformed into experiments in singular pictorial worlds, inspired by China, Japan, and Venice.
