Born in 1958, Nicolas Gasiorowski lives and works in Ivry-sur-Seine. He began drawing at the age of 10 and was admitted to the Paris School of Fine Arts in 1979. He comes out a year later, preferring solitary learning. Visionary of the unpredictable and painter of the moment, Nicolas Gasiorowski declares himself the greatest painter in the world, 1.95m, the whole character is there! Cultivating derision, everything is in the distance he puts between himself and things, and he does it with the elegance of a phlegmatic seducer. "Oil to slide, modelling material and some tools to draw in the cool... that’s about all I need to go where I don’t know what I’m doing. With the energy of my rubber-wrapped hands, I get irritated and caress without thinking about the virgin surface and find randomly in my gestures sometimes the landscape that I saw through the windows of my childhood, sometimes the face whose eyes I met. Sometimes I am also happy not to find anything at all as long as there is colour and light. That’s how I do it to find my worlds and try to share with those who are watching, my tumults and my beauties."
