My artistic approach is to feel the visible or invisible limits taken from a different point of view or angle, from a door, a window or a gap. The observer is not part of the painting, he is behind the image from which he is separated by a fence, a wall, a border. These are the borders that I cross in my life, from my country of birth, Sri Lanka to my country of adoption, France, being a little foreign in each one, while seeking links, correspondences between different visions between cultures, places and time. I have encountered invisible linguistic barriers; the translation of the word borders only partially corresponds to the word border in English, which gives a possibility of infinity that I would like to represent.
