Patricia Chemin, a "Paper" artist based in Douarnenez, Brittany, works more particularly with tissue paper.
Extremely sensitive to the atmospheres, to Nature, to the tones of the Breton skies and landscapes, she inspires her palette and colours her papers with paintings and acrylic inks with subtle and deep nuances.
The paper wrinkled, torn, glued, painted and repainted follows the shapes imposed by the artist, but sometimes also guides his hand. The multiple folds that appear, in a very natural and whimsical way, become the wrinkles of a face or the imperfections of an object. They are at the centre of his work, and speak of his attachment to the wear and tear and the patina of time.
