Inspired by the colours of Pop Art and Urban Art, Lucie Lith creates stencils that she mixes with text to tell a story that is left open to the viewer’s own interpretation.
For the love of writing
Originally from the South East of France, Lucie Lith spent many years in Paris in the field of operational marketing. She then managed a family business before deciding to devote herself to painting in 2015.
Driven by a pronounced taste for the imaginary and narrative from an early age, she first developed her sensitivity and creativity by writing poems and even several novels before discovering the art of the collage in 2008.
Challenging the essential values
Lith uses acrylic paint, spray cans, pens and brushes to create her collages which are often mixed with resin. Executed on wooden panels and canvases, her use of resin gives the works depth and a “mirror” effect. But for the artist, the most important aspect is the message.
The omnipresent quest for an ideal
Each work stems from the artist’s desire to challenge conventional standards. She seeks to give free rein to imagination and to reinvent reality in order to question the world in which we live. But at the same time, she brings to light our core values which are love, hope and freedom.
