A self-taught painter from the Netherlands since 1995 (lives in Saint Quay Portrieux), Caroline Vis is guided by her passion for colour, movement and certain geometric landmarks. She developed her own technique, drawing on the advice of many artists and the influence of abstract, contemporary and expressionist art, including the great Jackson Pollock.
"When I start a painting, I listen to the silence around me. Each touch I bring to my canvas is unique, I mix my main colors, with a smile on my face because I know something special is happening. The canvas is developing and I know that my creation will be unique. This is the moment when I start to feel alive.
Each canvas represents an emotion, I use different compositions, colors and shapes. I paint as often as possible, trying to capture the many ideas that appear in my surroundings and in my head. The question is not what to paint, but how to paint." Caroline Vis
