In 2016, after creating and running a skate shop for about ten years, Dôle (Ludovic Hamel) hung up the skateboards and painted on them. Reviving this spark already present in the 80s, with graffiti as a backdrop and the discovery of avant-garde artists: Di Rosa, Basquiat, Combas.... The initiation continues in the 90s with Munch, Dix, Magritte, creating a heterogeneous pictorial culture.
He now resides in Périgord, the millenary cradle of rock art, an almost autarkic isolation in a green setting allows Dôle, connected to the environment, to carry out its work. Using acrylic in all its forms (tube, marker, bomb), but also inks, on all types of media (paper, canvas, cardboard, wood, stone).
Exploring and developing a very personal graphic universe, a natural and protean hybridization, which releases a modern and uncomplicated painting, ignorant of archaic dogmas, raw and instinctive, a heap of futility and crazy fragments at first sight, it invites the eye to discover and then build its own reading.
Its driving force is the state of mind, its moods, whose colours and thoughts become subjects, while the hand, like an automaton, performs the score of a strange music with hypnotic powers.
