Originally from Marseille where he lives and works, Laurent Giordano, known as WILE, is one of those people who have always had the artistic fibre and have never stopped developing it. As a teenager, attracted by urban culture, he enthusiastically devotes himself to the practice of graffiti, "detaching himself from basic lettering to initiate new forms". Spontaneously, WILE chose to train in the know-how of graphic arts in order to perfect his vision and his practice, and after several years of apprenticeship, he obtained his diploma from the Axe Sud higher school in Marseille. WILE started his career as a freelance graphic designer and it was only a few years later that he felt the need to put his ideas on the web. As passionate as he is enterprising, he works assiduously to develop his pictorial language and then goes out to meet professionals in the art world and confront his practice with their critical eye. A fervent supporter of emerging contemporary creation, the Marseille gallery owner David Pluskwa will play a fundamental role in the professional development of the young painter from 2014 by exhibiting his work alongside renowned artists. Drawing most of his inspiration from the heart of his city and its inhabitants, WILE works from photographs taken at random from his urban walks, which he interprets with his bombs and stencils. Resolutely dynamic and positive, WILE’s painting is composed of snapshots of life that, each in its own way, testify to the beauty of simple things.
