Born in a family of artists in Brussels in 1944. Encouraged by my parents, I began studying Decorative Arts. At the age of 19, I worked in a large Brussels bookshop. The art book department has been entrusted to me. Close to renowned galleries, I had the opportunity to meet many painters. In addition, I followed evening classes in painting in an academy for 4 years. Then I opened an art supply store with my husband. In 1997, I was asked to give private painting workshops. The demand was such that I structured myself as an independent and decided to devote myself to an artistic life, fully.
My approach: My admiration for 19th century watercolourists, Turner, Signac, B. Morisot, E. Boudin, Jongkind, Cézanne...! I realized that the 20th century offered me a large amount of emotions, Kandinsky, P. Klee, Picasso, Miro, H. Hartung, Matisse, Rothko, Soulages, Zao Whou-Ki... Their works on paper were my favorite. Nourished with contemporary art, I took the plunge. Cancellation of detail, simplification, observation of nature, the essential colour. While meditating, I approached abstraction as a matter of course. In a word... of the experience. Travelling and visiting many museums is a great source of inspiration for me. The subject, no matter if I haven’t seen it, I imagine it, and if by chance it fits the "reality" it’s a discovery!
