L'Insecte always works on wood. He makes the support himself with decommissioned floorboards that he has previously treated and worked to give them the desired shades and colors. He uses different techniques such as acrylic paint, posca, aerosol ...

The frame has been found by the artist who has created the work. It is an integral part of the work.

An insect is a being that is often unloved and yet essential to the ecosystem ... Coming from graffiti, is this not why the artist decides to make it his blaze? A blaze that sounds like a parallel between its two reasons for living: nature and Street art, this movement so denigrated since its inception and already so deeply rooted in the history of art!

L’Insecte was originally a die-hard graffiti artist, adept at typography and more particularly old school letters from the 90s. He graffiti in the streets, vacant lots, wasteland, abandoned houses ... and discreetly affixed to his demanding messages, we can decipher the tag "1sekte", the one he reserves for the street. But L’Insecte is also a reference to nature, his nature which is dear to him and in the midst of which he loves to live. Do not think that graffiti is reserved for large metropolises, over the decades it has crossed fields and countryside to inspire, sublimate, (vandalize?) The smallest little stations in the provinces.

Over time, wood has become his material of choice. Always recycled, he finds it, treats it, sands it and paints it. The Insect is therefore the mixture of nature and hip-hop graffiti culture. It is graffiti an owl on oak, drawing a bear in the posca, denouncing with the softness of the line and the brutality of the words. Because yes, L’Insecte denounces and behind its pretty animals, its warm colors and its compositions skilfully punctuated by the slats, the message is clear and speaks to everyone!
