Sylvie Gedda

Sylvie Gedda lives and works in New Aquitaine. After several years of work on painting paste and movements (1st personal exhibition in Paris in 1981) his work focused on fluidity and transparencies. From 2006, she decided to amplify transparency games and play more with reflections and lights. Its favorite support has therefore become synthetic glass. At the manufacture of oil paintings, it substituted the epoxy resin, casting on the support and within which it introduces inks and pigments. The surface is shiny, solid, it has different thicknesses depending on the superposition of movies of colored worked within the resin.
Since mid 2015, strong of this experience on synthetic glass, the return to the canvas has naturally imposed itself. The resin having proven itself (paintings installed outdoors: Arcachon seafront, Sarlat alleys, etc.) so it uses the same technique on canvas and wood. His experience on synthetic glass allows him to anticipate the produced effects, to be able to drive and master them. It introduces inks to water, alcohol, pigments within epoxy resin that it flows on its support (canvas or wood).
Sylvie Gedda works with glue spatulas of different widths which allow her to stretch see turning her prepared colors. She draws her forms inside the resin using different wooden sticks, in an imaginary and always renewed calligraphy of space.
"My sources of inspiration are aroused by nature in the broadest sense: cosmic, microscopic, earthly, aquatic, human. It is life that interests me. I offer a job while shades of diaphanous films, Hoping to touch the one who looks at her, offer her all the poetry of games of shapes, colors and lights so that he weaves secret ties with nature and revives his imagination, his humanity, his essence, his bias.
