In the series of blue gestures, this alphabet, drawn "in the gesture", expresses the energy of calligraphy. The alphabet is a pretext for an expressiveness that the blue underlines to set the mood. The white traces add an element of superposition which breaks the too strict composition of the frame. This work is stretched on 3mm thick cardboard (but not glued on), hence a brown frame of half a centimetre all around which corresponds to kraft to be stretched. The work is thus perfectly presented, without unsightly folds. You can detach it from its support, or leave it, even if you choose to frame it. It will then be made invisible by the framing rod.

Born in 1971 in Nancy and a former student of the Beaux-Arts, Julien Chazal became a freelance artist very early on. He arrived in Paris in 1997 and teaches throughout France and the world. As a professional calligrapher, many companies call on him for his innovative and creative talents: Boucheron (jeweller), Ungaro (events), Agnès b. (fashion), Rothschild bank, l'Oréal, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, FNAC, Flammarion, Chaumet, Balenciaga, Shiseido and other references. Since 1996 and for more than 10 years, he participated every year in the "Rencontres Internationales des Doigts Noirs" to work on new experimental forms of contemporary Latin calligraphy and continues to exhibit regularly in France and abroad. Now recognized as one of the best calligraphers in Europe, Julien Chazal actively participates in international projects and continues to develop his research in new techniques such as lapidary engraving. He continues to teach at the highest level and has been president of the MOF (Un des Meilleurs Ouvrier de France) Calligraphy section for over eight years. Today he is developing a career as a multi-faceted artist: watercolour painting, oil painting, collages and natural pigments, mixing coloured abstract backgrounds, street-art, calligraphy and sometimes drawing. A multi-faceted artist, he never stops experimenting with sizes, instruments and supports.
