PALOMA is a self-taught painter born in Bordeaux of a Bordeaux mother and a Spanish father. Her post-impressionist beginnings quickly lead her to turn to abstraction, which will very quickly become her preferred pictorial language. In the 1990's she became a pupil of the painter Robert VALLET, and in 1994 she visited Yahne LE TOUMELIN in the Dordogne, who had a lasting influence on her decision not to be figurative. She admires the work of Fabienne VERDIER as well as Chinese painting - Li K'o-jan - Lin Feng-mien - Ts'i Pai-che - Zao Wou Ki (20th - 21st century) and the work of American expressionists such as Joan Mitchell or Helene Frankenthaler. PALOMA's painting uses a constant: the aerial perspective, painting of the evocation of landscapes, dreamed, lost, or forgotten landscapes, all this being the reflection of what can come or what has been. There is also a form of contemplative study and inner experience, she tries to think about what is beyond the visible. She is currently working on the duality between black and white, which gives a formal power close to a metaphysical experience on the question of the presence of absence.
